SC not ready to hear National Anthem in Courts?

At a time when recent decision of Supreme Court that made it mandatory to listen to National Anthem before each screening of movies in theaters is a hot topic of debate, it has quashed a petition to make SC too to listen the National Anthem before preceedings of courts on daily basis.

The petition was filed by a lawyer, who sought the direction of the apex court to have the National Anthem played at the start of proceedings in courts across the country.

While earlier giving the direction making it compulsory for the public exhibitors of movies to play national anthem before screening of movies, SC had observed that people need to not only listen but also pay respect to the national anthem and the court had also said it was the everyone’s duty to stand and pay respect when the Anthem is being played. But seems like in this plea, it found it necessary to mention while quashing plea to play same in courts that decisions of it need not be constructed too far or overstrecthed.
