Mega Lotteries for Digital Payments in India

In a bid to promote electronic transactions, NITI Aayog on Thursday announced two award schemes to felicitate people using digital mode for making payments. Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant informed that the Aayog had launched ‘Lucky Grahak Yojna’ for consumers and ‘Digi Dhan Vyapari Yojna’, to encourage merchants for transition through digital payment. Both schemes will cover small transactions between Rs.50 and Rs.3,000 to encourage every section of the society and NPCI will ensure mass movement of digitisation of payments by announcing lotteries.

Under ‘Lucky Grahak Yojana’, 15,000 winners will get 1,000 for next 100 days starting from Christmas Day. Also there will be weekly awards with 7,000 winners out of which maximum amount to be won will be of 1,00,000. Under ‘Digi Dhan Vyapari Yojana’ there will be weekly awards of 50,000 each week, startin from Christmas Day.

Mega Award of 1 Crore for 1st prize, 2nd prize of 50 lakhs and 25 lakhs for 3rd prize will also announced for consumers and similarly for merchants first prize will be of 50 lakhs, second prize of 25 lakhs and third prize of 5 lakhs.
